If I had a dollar for every time a man asked me, “What do women really want from men?” I would be a rich woman. Each time, my response has remained the same. No matter the century, most women simply want to feel they are special in the eyes of their man, thus loved.
Where the issue can get a bit cloudy is what makes a woman ‘feel’ they are special [loved and appreciated] in the eyes of their man? While it is the same basic concept, the gestures expected will change as the relationship changes. It’s like any other area of life - there’s an appropriate timing of gestures and/or gifts. Gifts don’t necessarily mean tangible items either.
The greatest gift a man can give to a woman is something of himself. Whether that is the gift of listening, understanding, compassion, respect, or simply talking about the events of his day. All these actions show value, in the eyes of most women.
Not to say the physical gifts don’t matter, because you can bet your bottom dollar - not giving physical gifts will land you in the dog house, especially on those special dates. Dates are important to women - first date, first kiss, first song, birthday, first … well, you know what I mean; the first year anniversary of all these events, engagement date, wedding date, and the list can be quite long for some women.
So, what is a man to do? Many men might think these things are silly or pointless, or maybe even a waste of time to try to remember. And, men - you might have a point - but that’s not the issue at hand. With that said, here are some ways to keep your woman ‘feeling’ special and happy. Because let’s face it, if the woman in your life is happy and content, chances are your life will be a whole lot happier too!
Men, if you really want to know what women want from men, try a few of the following suggestions - it doesn’t hurt to listen [not just hear] when we try to tell you what we want.
Here are some very basic dynamics about women that men should remember:
- Women (generally speaking) are the softer side of the human race. We have softer bodies, soft demeanor (usually) and instinctively want to nurture and care for our fellow man.
- WOMEN SEE EVERYTHING!!! Never underestimate a woman’s instinct.
Women are [generally] more intuitive than men. Simply, because we’ve been trained over thousands of years to have that watch-full eye over our children and loved ones. We must see what the children are doing and evaluate the potentials for hidden dangers constantly!
Why do you think moms always know when the hand is in the cookie jar, even when she’s not looking directly at you? Have you ever felt like a woman was looking at you and reading your very thoughts? Well essentially she is. She knows what that twitch of the eyebrows means, or the way you rub your thumb against your forefinger when you’re not being completely honest - your eyes tell the whole story.
- Women are attracted to the pretty - things like shiny [gemstone, diamond] jewelry - and anything that smells good.
But, here’s a tip for you men: Don’t wait until you are in trouble to do something nice for a woman. Believe me, it goes so much farther when you buy her flowers for no reason. You can hardly go wrong with these gifts. This is especially true for a long-term relationship, because this tells her you are still creating something wonderful and appreciate her.
Here is something you may not have thought about when buying a woman flowers - send them to her place of business! The number of times I have heard other women oooh and ahhh over someone getting flowers at work and say: “You’re so lucky to have to have a wonderful husband/boyfriend who will send you flowers! I wish my husband/boyfriend was that romantic!”
When you make this a habit, it becomes a magical event. Not to mention, your status among the other women has just soared and you are viewed as a rare breed of men. Heavy sigh! (More sappiness)
Most women just plain and simply want to feel special. We go out of our way to do those unnoticed things most men take for granted. Flowers will never go out of style. This is a long-standing tried and true formula that still works and I think will continue to work long into the future.
- Women appreciate ‘not having to ask for’ your help - you see the dirty clothes laying on the floor, the garbage piled over the top of the trash can, the children struggling with homework. Instead of deferring, step up and get it done. You will be amazed at the positive effect this has on your sex life too.
- Sometimes it’s not what you say, but rather how you say it - “Honey, you look TIRED, let me do that for you” or “You look like you had a rough day” sounds much better when phrased in the following manner: “Honey, you have been working way too hard, let me help with that” or “Even though you still look beautiful, I know how hard your day was, sit down and let me take care of that.
NEVER SAY: I’ll do that for you, etc. This will have a negative effect, especially if she has had a particularly challenging day. It infers the job or task as being ‘hers’ rather than one that is shared.
And when you think you are at a loss when trying to figure out what the woman in your life wants, just ask yourself - What did SHE tell me she wants? Then take a look at your surroundings, notice the carefully arranged photographs, or the aroma in the air and all those other little things women do to make their men feel special and loved.
Then go do something special for her - for no good reason other than showing her how special she is! You might be surprised how good it makes YOU feel.

If you can’t persuade the people to support you, what then? Well, if you’re in D.C. and have a political agenda - just threaten the people!
Just when you think you have seen everything in politics - BAM - along comes something that leaves you scratching your head and saying “You have got to be joking!”
But, it’s no joke - and you better believe this situation is serious. Just as serious as - well…going to jail.
I have posted my own “open letter” so to speak, to the President of the United States on my Obama Blog. Pointed questions are asked, in addition to “exposing” some hidden aspects.
Things such as:
- Illegal Immigrants ‘automatically’ enrolled into medicaid
- $172 billion cuts to medicare
- $329 billion increase to deficit
- $1900 fine, if you don’t pay, another $25000 fine added
And, what’s even scarier? This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to HR3200 You may read that posting by clicking this link: Mr. President, About Health Care…
Oh, Beaton’s case President Obama says “…insurance canceled because she forgot to list ‘acne’ on her application…” Was actually canceled because Ms. Beaton did not list a heart condition. But, the Gov. of Texas stepped in, and her insurance was in fact reinstated.
What other facts does President Obama misstate?

I made some recent changes to the file structure on TheGoSeeGirl Answers & Information Website blog, and apparently some of the re-configuring I did is causing ‘error’ returns. I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused my readers.
If you are subscribed to the ‘Old Feed’ please resubscribe to the new feed, TheGoSeeGirlFeed. Again, I apologize for my lack of knowledge with ‘feeds’ and if there is someone out there who knows how I could redirect the old feed, from the sub-file structure (thegoseegirl.com/answers/feed) to the main files (www.thegoseegirl.com/feed) I am all ears. I ‘toy’ with some coding [use cheat sheets too] in html and php, but by no means am I a programmer.
Thank you for your patience with me. Watch for new additions to the blog - coming soon - several new pages for niche topics. Til then, have a great weekend.

Chances are, if you are a U.S. Citizen, you have heard of the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act [AKA ARRA] of 2009. An economic stimulus package enacted by the 111th Congress of the United States and signed into law by President Obama, on February 17th of this year. But, what’s it all about? What qualifies as “approved” and how do you benefit from this ’stimulus’ package?
ARRA is defined as, “An Act, Making supplemental appropriations for job preservation and creation, infrastructure investment, energy efficiency and science, assistance to the unemployed, and State and local fiscal stabilization, for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2009, and for other purposes. (should I be scared about the ‘other purposes’?)
With only one week to go before the end of this fiscal year, can it be said this ‘Act’ was successful and more importantly - was it worth the cost? (Certain provisions extend through September 30, 2010)
Some experts are now saying the economy is already recovering and the housing market is driving this comeback. Even if the experts turn out to be correct, I doubt this will be of much comfort to those who have already lost their homes and or jobs. With unemployment reaching double digits in many areas across the nation [United States], just when does this “Recovery & Reinvestment Act” trickle down to the average consumer and working people?
Does the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act have an impact on other Countries? If so, how much of an effect does this have on other countries - and their economies? How does that benefit the citizens of those countries?
The world of commerce is just that - Worldwide. So, it would stand to reason the economic effects of one country could and would affect other countries [in the free world and of free trade], sometimes with a ripple effect.
The simplest of things seem to become complex once government get involved, and the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act is anything but simple. Enough time has passed since its enactment for our Representatives in Washington [as well as our home States] to know the details of ARRA. Yet I would be extremely hesitant to hold my breath on that one.
The ARRA spans over several hundred pages and while I would love to give my opinion on this entire act, that would require several hundred pages. So, rather than give my opinions, I shall ask a few questions about a few Sections and their Provisions that might trickle down closest to the average working class American:
Here’s an EXCERPT (of less confusing language) used under H. R. 1—106:
EXCERPT: …That any funds made available under this heading used by the Secretary for personnel expenses related to administering funding under this heading shall be transferred to ‘‘Personnel Compensation and Benefits, Community Planning and Development’’ and shall retain the terms and conditions of this account, including reprogramming provisions, except that the period of availability set forth in the previous proviso shall govern such transferred funds: Provided further, That any funds made available under this heading used by the Secretary for training or other administrative expenses shall be transferred to ‘‘Administration, Operations, and Management’’ for non-personnel expenses of the Department of Housing and Urban Development: Provided further, That any funds made available under this heading used by the Secretary for technology shall be transferred to ‘‘Working Capital Fund’’.
END EXCERPT
Now, that’s not so confusing is it? Well, now it’s time to put on those thinking caps people. What about the following found under H. R. 1—104:
EXCERPT: …Provided further, That section 2301(d)(4) of the Act is repealed: Provided further, That section 2301(c)(3)(C) of the Act is amended to read ‘‘establish and operate land banks for homes and residential properties that have been foreclosed upon’’: Provided further, That funding used for section 2301(c)(3)(E) of the Act shall be available only for the redevelopment of demolished or vacant properties as housing: Provided further, That no amounts made available from a grant under this heading may be used to demolish any public housing (as such term is defined in section 3 of the United States Housing Act of 1937 (42 U.S.C. 1437a)): Provided further, That a grantee may not use more than 10 percent of its grant under this heading for demolition activities under section 2301(c)(3)(C) and (D) unless the Secretary determines…
END EXCERPT
While there are some sections I would love to highlight with additional excerpts, I would probably be inadvertently encouraging the excessive use of alcohol consumption, by taxing the sensibilities of the reader. For that reason, I shall end my culpability and turn the decision of further perusal [over] to the individual reader - to read at your own risk: American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 Tequila anyone?

Can you increase the chances of someone surviving a hearth attack? Would you even know what to do? What if you are the one having a heart attack?
Some doctors say by taking a low dose of aspirin about an hour before bedtime can reduce your risk. This is attributed to lowered blood pressure.
NOTE: Always consult with your physician before adding or changing any medication regimen, as some medications can suppress or enhance the effects of other medications.
Bystanders: #1 Thing to increase your chances of survival
When a heart stops beating, death is not instantaneous. It is a process. While every second counts, there are measures the ‘un-skilled’ person can take to potentially save a life. The most crucial thing you can do until medics arrive is to keep the blood circulating. As long as you can keep the blood circulating, the victim of a heart attack has an increased chance of survival.
While many people doubt their ability or are hesitant to place their mouth upon a stranger’s mouth, doing chest compressions alone can sometimes be enough. Studies have shown, only 20% to 30% of bystanders will perform CPR, for these two reasons alone. Almost anyone can perform chest compressions.
By educating the general public, that you don’t necessarily have to possess any “special skills or techniques” to potentially save a life in this situation, we could dramatically increase survival rates. Simple chest compressions (100 per minute) can keep a person’s blooding circulating, and in some circumstances is more effective. Most people do not know how to perform CPR properly, but anyone can perform chest compressions.
In 2007, results of a massive study on bystander intervention was released by Japanese researchers. What they found might surprise you. [The results are for occurrence happening outside of hospital, where most occurrences happen.]
- Those who suffered a heart attack in view of bystanders without intervention had about a 2% survival rate.
- Those who received CPR, had a survival rate of 11% (eleven percent).
- And those who received chest compressions only, had a survival rate of 19% (nineteen percent).
While these percentages might seem small to some, it is actually a dramatic increase of odds in survival. By performing chest compressions, oxygen is kept circulating, which could increase the victim’s chances of survival as much as Seventy (70%) percent.
Here’s a few more stats:
- Without a heartbeat, circulation comes to a halt - chest compressions keep the blood flowing, thus delivering oxygen to the brain and other body organs.
- After only 10 seconds without oxygen the brain’s functions slow and lose capacity to signal other body organs
- Diaphragm muscles no longer contract and release
- Kidneys stop filtering blood
- Chain reaction triggers a breakdown in cells
It is extremely important that you take action immediately if you think someone is suffering a heart attack and goes into cardiac arrest. Remember, call 911 and start chest compressions - at a rate of 100 per minute, and don’t stop no matter what - until the EMS professionals arrive.
You may very well save a person’s life.
Remember, nothing can replace the advice of a medical professional. For more information on what you can do to prevent or survive a heart attack contact the American Heart Association

Do you believe in Karma or Fate? Karma, the belief that “You reap what you sow” may have originated with Buddhism or Jainism, but you don’t have to be of either belief to believe in Karma. Fate, on the other hand, is the belief that a “predetermined and inevitable outcome or ending” will occur; and you have no control to change this usually grim course of ending. And if you believe in karma, does that mean you must believe in fate also?
Personally, I believe both are valid concepts reliant upon each other, yet exist independently as well. While there will always be circumstances beyond our control, I do believe we have the ability to change our fate with the practice of karmic belief when it comes to much of our life.
Fate, while considered a predetermined or inevitable ending, offers choices and variables in my opinion. The choices create the variables to what those endings inevitability become. Rather than having no choice on how any given event might end, I believe we change our fate through the karma we create by our thoughts and actions - or lack thereof. This brings many variables into each circumstance or event. Karma results from those choices and in essence determines what our fate is to become.
So while fate might appear to be predetermined, I believe it offers more than one option as an outcome. It might be true in some situations that fate will have its way no matter what we do; but more often than not, I think we are given our choice of what our fate will become. Or at the very least - how we arrive there. Which still leaves choices. Because how we arrive there will also effect the end result of ‘who’ we become. But, don’t just take my word for this. Prove it to yourself whether karma and/or fate really exist or not.
A simple process, for experimental purposes, can test the credibility of both Karma and Fate. By simply asking yourself a few questions, the answers will come with absolute results one cannot deny. So, let’s put this to the test, shall we? But, before we get started, grab a sheet of paper and a writing instrument. Draw a vertical line down the center of the page, the starting point of which should be about an inch from top of page. [NOTE: For "Cause and Effect" thinkers who claim to discount karma and/or fate, I have a challenge for you as well.]
- Think about a past event in your life, where no matter what you did or tried, you could not achieve the results you desired. Title the page with this event [to which you have good memory] you thought was predetermined, fate.
- Then think about the actions you took in your attempt to achieve the outcome you desired. Log those actions on the left side (column 1) of the paper.
- Now I want you to think about the actions you did not take or discounted for one reason or another and log those on the right side (column 2)
- Using your best logical reasoning, hypothesize the probable outcome of column 2. Column 2 might even result in more than one hypotheses.
Since you already know the actual outcome of column 1, compare that outcome against column 2. How do they differ? Then take this a little further by considering how each outcome, whether the actual or one of the hypothesized, affected (influenced) everyone you came into contact with. Then consider how that effected (the result of influence) their actions and choices with everyone they came into contact with - in reaction to your actions. WOW, the possibilities and choices become endless.
Here is something else to consider while you are at it: Have you ever done something selfish you knew was wrong yet did it anyway? Only to have someone else do the very same thing to you - at some point later? Did the thought of karma pass through your mind? A “poetic justice” so to speak? Did you question if things would have turned out differently, had you not taken selfish action?
Now for those who discount karma or fate, stating there is only cause and effect - please explain to me:
Two people of same intellect are given the same task to complete. Both have the same set of instructions, tools, and resources on how to accomplish this. To which each adheres to - in identical order and fashion. Yet one will succeed while the other fails. How can this happen under the theory of cause and effect?
The only logical conclusion one can come to - will result in giving credence to both Karma and Fate. What do you think? Weigh in with your comments below. I am always open to alternate theories and beliefs.
PS Watch for my future posting on the “Best Success Formula” a recipe for a better life.
